Overview

Omineca Mining and Metals Ltd. is a Canadian junior gold company with dual-track programs underway – the resumption of an underground placer gold bulk sample program and a diamond drill program focused on the discovery of the potential multiple bedrock sources of that placer gold.

The flagship Wingdam gold exploration and placer recovery project is located along the Barkerville Highway, 40 km west of Barkerville in the Cariboo Mining District of south-central BC. The Wingdam projects include hard-rock tenures totaling over 50,000 hectares (500 square km) and more than 15 linear kilometers of placer claims along the Lightning Creek valley.

With the dewatering and rehabilitation of the existing decline and underground workings completed, the Company and its partners are preparing to resume bulk sample operations at the Wingdam placer recovery project where the first bulk sample in 2012 recovered 173.4 oz of placer gold from a single 2.4m wide by 2.4m high by 24m long crosscut. To ensure the stability of the interior of the paleochannel, the Company is utilizing spilings, grout, special shotcrete formulations, and steel sets in place of the ground freezing technology that was used in the 2012 bulk sample.

Omineca’s ongoing exploration program seeks to identify the potential multiple hard rock sources of the placer gold at Wingdam.
